Prologue
"Aap ne mujhe aise kyun chhoda? Main dobara gir jaati toh?" she pouted, her voice laced with innocence, waiting for his answer.
("Why did you leave me like that? What if I had fallen again?")
Emir’s gaze darkened as he leaned back, his smirk pure arrogance. "Dobara gir jaati? Kaafi giri hui ho." ("Fallen again? You’ve already fallen quite a lot.")
Her lips parted in disbelief. "Bade badtameez hain aap!" ("You’re so rude!")
The moment she tried to swat his arm, his playful expression vanished. "Just shut up, okay? Stay in your limits, or you won’t like the consequences," he warned, voice sharp.
Her breath hitched. His tone was cold, yet his eyes burned with something raw, something dangerous. Fear gripped her chest, and she lowered her gaze, staring at the floor, blinking rapidly as tears threatened to spill.
A heavy silence settled between them. Then, a warm hand cupped her face, tilting it up.

"Kyun ro raha hai mera baby?" His voice softened, thumb brushing away her tears. ("Why is my baby crying?")
"Wo... woh hai yahan," she whispered, pointing to the balcony, her fingers trembling. ("Th-there... he's here.")
His jaw clenched.
"Baby doe, look into my eyes." His grip on her wrist was firm, grounding. "Didn’t you say you trust me? Hmm? Then trust me now—there’s no one."
With slow, deliberate steps, he led her to the balcony. The night air was cold, but his presence was warm, solid.
"Dekho baby, koi nahi hai. Jaisa maine kaha tha. Ab rona band karo," he murmured, brushing his lips over her forehead. ("See, baby? There's no one, just like I said. Now stop crying.")
She said nothing—just wrapped her arms around him, burying her face in his chest. He sighed, arms circling her tightly, his lips pressing into her hair as if he could hold her fears at bay

His brows furrowed as he took in her state.
"Neeche ka kaha hai?" he asked, an amused edge in his voice. ("Where’s your lower wear?")
She blinked at him, utterly unbothered. "Aapne pehnaya nahi." ("You didn’t put it on me.")
A beat of silence. Then, a slow, wicked smirk stretched across his lips. "Meri galti hai toh sudhar leta hoon." ("If it's my mistake, I should fix it.")
And before she could react, he lifted her effortlessly.

"Emirrrr," she called out later, her voice sleepy, childlike.
"Haan, jaana?" he responded instantly. ("Yes, my love?")
"Kuch nahi."("Nothing.")
"Hain??" he scoffed, turning to look at her, utterly confused. ("Huh??")
She blinked at him innocently, the corners of her lips twitching. And for the first time in hours, a laugh escaped him—deep, rumbling, and so full of love.
